GBE 2.3 - Lost & Found (reversed)

Found and Lost

I remember when I first found her page on MySpace a few years ago. The page was so bright and summery. We became "MySpace friends" and slowly got to know each other. Over time, we became closer. We shared things. We talked. A lot.

We listened to each other. I tried to be a shoulder for her although I didn't entirely understand what she was going through. She got a piece of my heart.

She still has that piece, even though we grew apart. Like a star, our friendship flared and burned out, although it served a purpose. Still, in essence, I lost her. She will often cross my mind and I trust that she is doing well. I think she is.

Lost friendships are hard...especially when a piece of your heart is lost with them. Maybe you'll find her again?

Cheers, Jenn

People wander through our lives. Some stay, some go. Good or not so good, they all leave impressions that influence us for the rest of our lives.

I know what you mean about these internet friends. I was once friends with a young fellow (my sons age) on Webook. He'd write deep emotional pieces that would expose so much about himself that I actually worried about this stranger. Was he suicidal? Would he ever get over his messed up problems? Or was he just some kid messing with the old ladies' minds. Then one day he removed his profile from the site. Poof! Gone. I hope he's okay wherever he is.

I hope she is. In any case, I do know one thing--she is better for having known you.

Ditto what Beth (Word Nerd) said. You are a good guy, Kev. I'm glad some of our old group is "back together".

It stinks when that happens. She remembers too. I trust that.

Friends come and go like that: I have dealt with it many times in my life. Such is life, I suppose. I think about most of them as well.

That was very touching and well expressed.

You never know, when you least expect it she may cross your path again. If she does, it is fate.

Lovely blog on lost and found!

Thoughts that entered my head while reading this: for a season, for a reason. I was just going to write that maybe you'd find her again, but I see Jenn already suggested that.

This is beautiful, I love the way you describe the friendship as a star. I hope she is well too.
