Escape by Metallica

Feel no pain, but my life ain't easy
I know I'm my best friend
No one cares, but I'm so much stronger
I'll fight until the end
To escape from the true false world
Undamaged destiny
Can't get caught in the endless circle
Ring of stupidity

Out of my own, out to be free
One with my mind, they just can't see
No need to hear things that they say
Life is for my own to live my own way

Rape my mind and destroy my feelings
Don't tell my what to do
I don't care now, 'cause I'm on my side
And I can see through you
Feed my brain with your so called standards
Who says that I ain't right
Break away from your common fashion
See through your blurry sight

Out of my own, out to be free
One with my mind, they just can't see
No need to hear things that they say
Life is for my own to live my own way

See they try to bring the hammer down
No damn chains can hold me to the ground
Life is for my own to live my own way

DWS- I’m looking forward to it.

Hopefully there are performances like this one.

Thank you, Lexus

I want to thank Lexus for their commercial featuring Diana Krall. It brought her to my attention. And today I bought her Greatest Hits. Love them. Jazz piano I usually don't go for, but I was in the mood for jazz and saw her CD. I'm in a mellow mood.

Well I’ve think I’ve figured it out.

Current mood: relieved
Category: Life

I listen to a lot of music and relate it to my life. Last night, going though some of my vinyl (yes, I still have hundreds of them) I came across Jethro Tull's Greatest Hits. It brought back memories, and I think this song gave me the reason for why I've been so moody. I wouldn't be surprised if some of you have never heard it. But the last line gives me hope. Peace

"Too Old To Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young To Die"

The old Rocker wore his hair too long,
wore his trouser cuffs too tight.
Unfashionable to the end --- drank his ale too light.
Death's head belt buckle --- yesterday's dreams ---
the transport caf' prophet of doom.
Ringing no change in his double-sewn seams
in his post-war-babe gloom.

Now he's too old to Rock'n'Roll but he's too young to die.

He once owned a Harley Davidson and a Triumph Bonneville.
Counted his friends in burned-out spark plugs
and prays that he always will.
But he's the last of the blue blood greaser boys
all of his mates are doing time:
married with three kids up by the ring road
sold their souls straight down the line.
And some of them own little sports cars
and meet at the tennis club do's.
For drinks on a Sunday --- work on Monday.
They've thrown away their blue suede shoes.

Now they're too old to Rock'n'Roll and they're too young to die.

So the old Rocker gets out his bike
to make a ton before he takes his leave.
Up on the A1 by Scotch Corner
just like it used to be.
And as he flies --- tears in his eyes ---
his wind-whipped words echo the final take
and he hits the trunk road doing around 120
with no room left to brake.

And he was too old to Rock'n'Roll but he was too young to die.
No, you're never too old to Rock'n'Roll if you're too young to die.

I’m in another grumpy mood.

Current mood: aggravated

I just heard Marvin Gaye's Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler). I cannot agree more with those lyrics. Right now some things (people) are making me wanna holler Go F*** Yourselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took out the dah, dah, dah's.

Rockets, moon shots
Spend it on the have nots
Money, we make it
Fore we see it you take it
Oh, make you wanna holler
The way they do my life
Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
This ain't livin',
This ain't livin'
No, no baby, this ain't livin'
No, no, no
Inflation no chance
To increase finance
Bills pile up sky high
Send that boy off to die
Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
Make me wanna holler
The way they do my life
Bad breaks, set backs
Natural fact is
I can't pay my taxes
Oh, make me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
Yea, it makes me wanna holler
And throw up both my hands
Crime is increasing
Trigger happy policing
Panic is spreading
God know where we're heading
Oh, make me wanna holler
They don't understand

Mother, mother
Everybody thinks we're wrong
Who are they to judge us
Simply cause we wear
our hair long

Karma can be a bitch!

Who would have thunk it? O.J. is back in the news. I was one of the people who thought that he got away with murder. LITERALLY! Now he could be facing some time. What comes around goes around.

Thank goodness for recordings................

If Janis Joplin had broken into the music industry today, she wouldn't have made it. Sex sells. Record companies aren't looking for talent;Look at who they push at the youth as pop- no-talent posers like Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and her sister Ashley, etc.

This is a great version of "Summertime". The trumpet and clarinet intro anticipating her powerful voice mingle perfectly with the sad sweetness of the first minor chords of the guitar.

One of the few songs you can listen to over and over, year after year without ever getting tired of it.
And the lyrics are so simple, and yet so intense.

Timeless grace.
Hey all you young ones out there, listen to that emotion. Rare that you hear that from female singers nowadays.

Summertime, time, time,
Child, the living's easy.
Fish are jumping out
And the cotton, Lord,
Cotton's high, Lord - so high.

Your daddy's rich
And your ma is so good-looking, babe.
She's a-looking good now.
Hush, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby.
No, no, no,
Don't you cry, don't you cry.

One of these mornings
You're gonna rise, rise up singing.
You're gonna spread your wings, child,
And take, take to the sky,
Lord, the sky.

But until that morning,
Honey, nothing's going to harm you now,
No, no, no no, no no, no...
Don't you cry -- cry.

What have we done? Song by White Lion - When The Children Cry & the lyrics

Little child
Dry your crying eyes
How can I explain
The fear you feel inside
´cause you were born
Into this evil world
Where man is killing man
and no one knows just why

What have we become
Just look what we have done
All that we destroyed
You must build again

When the children cry
Let them know we tried
´cause when the children sings
The new world begins

Little child
You must show the way
To a better day
For all the young
´cause you were born
For the world to see
That we all can live
In light and peace

No more presidents
And all the wars will end
One united world under god

When the children cry
Let them know we tried
´cause when the children sings
The new world begins

What have we become
Just look what we have done
All that we destroyed
You must build again

No more presidents
And all the wars will end
One united world under god

When the children cry
Let them know we tried
´cause when the children fight
Then we know it ain´t right
When the children break
Let them know we´re awake
´cause when the children sings
The new world begins
