Here are some photos, paintings, and music, that have caught my eyes and ears. You will find my taste in music to be eclectic at the very least but I hope you enjoy. You'll never know what I might choose to post.

The Interview
Here are my answers.
Questions:
I am also a work in progress. :)
2. Have you ever felt truly understood by anyone? If so, who? If not, why do you think that is?
3. Do you follow the rules or break them? Do you play it safe or take risks? Explain.
4. I believe in living in the moment, but I also think it's good to have a plan, a general direction. Where do you hope to be in five years time?
Or maybe just take the "Fifth" ;)

"Piece of My Heart" times 3
Text in blue is from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Piece of My Heart" is a song written by Jerry Ragovoy and Bert Berns and originally recorded by Erma Franklin in 1967. The song came to greater mainstream attention when Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company covered the song in 1968 on their album Cheap Thrills and had a hit with it.
In 2004, the Big Brother and the Holding Company version of this song was ranked #344 on Rolling Stones list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The song is also included among The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
Franklin said in an interview that when she first heard Joplin's version on the radio, she didn't recognize it because of the vocal arrangement.
Noted cultural writer Ellen Willis wrote of the difference: "When Franklin sings it, it is a challenge: no matter what you do to me, I will not let you destroy my ability to be human, to love.
Joplin seems rather to be saying, surely if I keep taking this, if I keep setting an example of love and forgiveness, surely he has to understand, change, give me back what I have given". In such a way, Joplin used blues conventions not to transcend pain, but "to scream it out of existence".
All three are different. Tell me which, if any, you like. :)
Erma Franklin's original recording: 1967
The original version of "Piece of My Heart" was recorded by Aretha Franklin's older sister Erma in 1967. The song was a top ten R&B hit in the U.S., and also peaked at number sixty-two on the U.S. Pop Singles chart. In the UK, the single was re-released in 1992, due to a successful Levi's jeans commercial, when it peaked inside the UK Singles Chart at number nine.
Janis Joplin version: 1968 - The one that is remembered.
The song became a bigger pop hit when recorded by Big Brother and the Holding Company in 1968, with lead singer Janis Joplin. The song was taken from the group's album Cheap Thrills, recorded in 1968 and released on Columbia Records. This rendition made it to number twelve on the U.S. pop chart.
Faith Hill version: 1993 - Her producers had it right (read below). This is definitely pop-country. No rock; no blues.
Country artist Faith Hill included the song on her debut album, Take Me as I Am (1993). Though it met criticism from rock listeners more familiar with Joplin's version, when released as the album's second single, it topped the U.S. Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in the spring of 1994. During the recording of the song, her producers were shocked to learn that Hill had never heard Joplin's version. Her only exposure to the song was the country arrangement that had been sent in the form of a demo recording by the song's publisher. The producers ordered Hill not to listen to Joplin's version until recording was complete so that it would not influence the new artist's vocal interpretation. After hearing the Joplin version, the influence was immediate as live performances of the song became much more rock-influenced.
Hill has since re-recorded the track for the international pressing of her third album, Faith, released in 1998. This version can also be found on her 2001 international greatest hits album There You'll Be. Her original version was included in her 2007 greatest hits album The Hits.

P!nk - Words *I added lyrics*
Take Y
Take the letter
Take it out on the alphabet
Don't ask me why
No more questions
Just accept it for the way it is
Words are just words
They get in my way
I can never say what I wanna say
Who will understand it anyway?
It's just a waste
Take M
Mmm mmm
It's so lovely, so delicious, it says it all
I don't like X
Ex-boyfriends, ex-girlfriends
Exactly what I don't need
Twisting my words so easily
Words are just words
They get in my way
See like right now, I wanna tell you that I love you
But I don't know how..
Put the H with the A with the TE,
Give it power, you could destroy me
Put the L, with the O with the VE,
Give that power and you don't have to say anything
Words are just words
They get in my way
Bla bla bla bla
Blaaaa
Words are just words
They get in my way
Words are just words
They get in my way
Take B,
And just let it be, B...

Home Sweet Home
Hers has a different sound; different style. A lot of people have said she butchered it, and I think that's a little harsh. We all have our preferences. Now, as I like to do it... a little background on the song.
Written by:
Lyrics: Nikki Sixx;
Music: Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, and Tommy Lee
"Home Sweet Home" is a song by the American glam metal band Mötley Crüe and is one of the first examples of a power ballad. Originally released on the band's 1985 album, Theatre of Pain, the song was accompanied by a music video which documented the band's undertakings over the course of a concert, or several concerts. "Home Sweet Home" was later remixed and re-released as a single in 1991, as "Home Sweet Home '91." This version was featured on the band's Decade of Decadence compilation album. The song is often referred to as a power ballad, and its success was a prelude to similar marketing formula for other hair bands in the late 1980s. The song ranks #12 on VH1's chart of the greatest power ballads of all time.
The original release of "Home Sweet Home" charted at #89 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Home Sweet Home '91" peaked at #37 on the same chart in 1992. To date, "Home Sweet Home '91" is the last Mötley Crüe song to chart in the American Billboard Top 40.
Carrie Underwood recorded a cover version in 2009 for the American Idol season 8 send-off song. Underwood also released the song as a single on iTunes where it peaked at #1. On the chart week of March 28, 2009 "Home Sweet Home" made a debut at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart based on digital sales alone. It debuted on the Hot Country Songs chart at #52. On the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart, the song made its debut at #10. It also debuted at #33 on the Canadian Hot 100. [1]

The Pastor's Ass
it won..
The pastor was so pleased with the donkey
that he entered it in the
race
again, and it won again.
The local paper read:
PASTOR'S
ASS OUT FRONT.
The Bishop was so upset with this kind of
publicity that he ordered
the
pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.
The next day, the local paper head line
read:
BISHOP
SCRATCHES
PASTOR'S
ASS.
This was too much for the bishop, so he
ordered the pastor to get
rid
of the donkey.
The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a
nearby convent.
The local paper, hearing of the news, posted
the following headline
the
next day:
NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.
The bishop fainted.
He informed the nun that she would have to
get rid of the donkey, so she
sold it to a farmer for $10.
The next day the paper read:
NUN
SELLS ASS FOR $10.
This was too much for the bishop, so he
ordered the nun to buy back
the
donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run
wild..
The next day the headlines read:
NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.
The bishop was buried the next day.
The moral of the story is . .. being
concerned about public opinion
can bring you much grief and misery . .
even shorten your life.
So be yourself and enjoy life.
Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and
you'll be a lot happier
and
live longer!
Have a great day!!

'Nuff said- dig the master!
I sure got the blues this morning, baby
Yeah! And I'm here to tell you about it
So you might as well pick up on it! Yeah!
I'm a man
At least I'm tryin' to be
I've lived before
The other half of me
I've lived before
That you don't want me
But in this search
For nothing desperately
Oh, I'm tryin' tryin'
Not to be a fool
I'm tryin' tryin'
Lord to keep my cool, baby tryin' so hard to keep it together
After I find, baby
That true love of mine
I'm just rollin' screamin'
Cryin' flyin'
Can't be trusted, but busted
Rolling Stone
You're a woman
At least you say you are
You're a woman
At least you look like you are
You're a woman
At least you taste like you are
But you can take it off
In bed with my guitar
And then you leave them
Throw me outside
To cry, cry
To the moon and the nighttime
Save my soul,
You can't find
All you want is a ticket to ride
After you show me everything
It did prove otherwise
You just rollin', screamin', cryin' good love is sometime, but can't be trusted

Posting anyway
Silly, silly me.
So when I found out it wasn't one, I deleted it. But you know what? I think I like it, so WTF. This is just me posting a poem. ;p It is my first try at a "pantoum", and I'll try again. Maybe get it correct the next time. Just call me a "rebel poet".
Thanks J.B., for introducing me to this kind of poetry. Go and check out his page... tell him Kevin sent you. :D
Be sure to check out the Legacy Writers of Harmony Pub home page. And do the same... tell them Kevin sent you. :D
They'll say ... "Who?" lol
Hearts in the Sand
Ever drawn a heart in the sand
By a stick or with your hand
I take comfort in seeing this
In the sand that the sun will kiss
By a stick or with your hand
Draw another heart in the sand
In the sand that the sun will kiss
This other heart brings happiness
Draw another heart in the sand
On the beach, I lay suntanned
This other heart brings happiness
This other heart, drawn in bliss
On the beach, I lay suntanned
Slipping away into dreamland
This other heart, drawn in bliss
In the waves, something is amiss
Slipping away into dreamland
Rising tides wash away hearts - unplanned
In the waves, something is amiss
I lost my heart, so remiss.

Pass it on, pass it on to the young and old
So I get in my car, turn it up and on comes Celine Dion. :) Sorry, but I do love you Celine; you are talented but I pushed the skip button and this came on.
How appropriate. Straight Ahead. So listen, read the lyrics below and enjoy.
I especially like the opening 5 lines.
This morning, no Morrison. Nope. Some Hendrix... and maybe some Foo Fighters a little later. ;-)
Straight Ahead
Hello, my friend
So happy to see you again
I was so alone
All by my self
I just couldn’t make it
Have you heard, baby
What the winds blowing round
Have you heard, baby
A whole lot of peoples coming right on down
Communication, yeah
Is coming on strong
And don’t give a damn, baby
If your hair is short or long, huh
I said, get out of your grave
Everybody is dancing in the street
Do what you know, don’t be slow
You gotta practice what you preach
’cause it’s time for you and me
Come to face reality (it sounds like he says ’fake reality’)
Forget about the past, baby
Things ain’t what they used to be
Keep on straight ahead
Keep on straight ahead
Straight ahead, baby
Straight ahead, baby
We got to stand side by side
We got to stand together and organize
They say power to the people,
That’s what they’re screamin’
Freedom of the soul
Pass it on, pass it on to the young and old
You got to tell the children the truth
They don’t need a whole lot of lies
Because one of these days, baby
They’ll be running things
So when you give them love
You better give it right
Woman and child and man and wife
The best love to have is the love of life
Pushing on straight ahead
Straight ahead, baby
Hello my friend
It’s so good to see you again
And I’ve been all by my self
I don’t think I can make it alone
I gotta keep on pushing aheadFriday, April 17, 2009
Music inflames temperament
I have been told by a few friends not to listen or read him when my mood gets blue, but it's strange... I seem drawn to his work when I AM blue. Go figure...
So today, I read during my lunch. It called to me.
This is the complete poem entitled "An American Prayer", which is but a small part of the album of the same name. (see track listing below)
*Note~ Not all the poem appears on the album*
Background on the album: "In 1978, seven years after Jim Morrison died and five years after the remaining members of the band broke up, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore reunited and recorded backing tracks over Morrison's poetry (originally recorded in a poetry session, in 1969). Other pieces of music and spoken word recorded by the Doors and Morrison were also used in the audio collage, such as dialogue from Morrison's film HWY and snippets from jam sessions. The album received mixed reviews and still divides critics, yet it has managed a platinum certification in the US, placing it roughly as high in US sales as most of the Doors' studio albums (only The Doors and L.A. Woman are so far multi-platinum)."[1]

An American Prayer
by James Douglas Morrison
Do you know the warm progress
under the stars?
Do you know we exist?
Have you forgotten the keys
to the Kingdom?
Have you been borne yet
& are you alive?
Let's reinvent the gods, all the myths
of the ages
Celebrate symbols from deep elder forests
[Have you forgotten the lessons
of the ancient war]
The fathers are cackling in trees of the forest
Our mother is dead in the sea
Do you know we are being led to
slaughters by placid admirals
& that fat slow generals are getting
obscene on young blood
Do you know we are ruled by T.V.
The moon is a dry blood beast
Guerilla bands are rolling numbers
in the next block of green vine
amassing for warfare on innocent herdsmen
who are just dying
O great creator of being
grant us one more hour to
perform our art
& perfect our lives
The moths & atheists are doubly divine
& dying
We live, we die
& death not ends it
Journey we more into the
Nightmare
Cling to life
our passion'd flower
Cling to c**ts & cocks
of despair
We got our final vision
by clap
Columbus' groin got
filled w/ green death
(I touched her thigh
& death smiled)
We have assembled inside this ancient
& insane theatre
To propagate our lust for life
& flee the swarming wisdom
of the streets
The barns are stormed
The windows kept
& only one of all the rest
To dance & save us
W/ the divine mockery
of words
Music inflames temperament
(When the true King's murderers
are allowed to roam free
a 1000 magicians arise
in the land)
Where are the feasts
we were promised
Where is the wine
The New Wine
(dying on the vine)
resident mockery
give us an hour for magic
We of the purple glove
We of the starling flight
& velvet hour
We of arabic pleasure's breed
We of sundome & the night
Give us a creed
To believe
A night of Lust
Give us trust in
The Night
Give of color
hundred hues
a rich Mandala
for me & you
& for your silky
pillowed house
a head, wisdom
& a bed
Troubled decree
Resident mockery
has claimed thee
We used to believe
in the good old days
We still receive
In little ways
The Things of Kindness
& unsporting brow
Forget & allow
Did you know freedom exists
in a school book
Did you know madmen are
running our prison
w/in a jail, w/in a gaol
w/in a white free protestant
Maelstrom
We're perched headlong
on the edge of boredom
We're reaching for death
on the end of a candle
We're trying for something
That's already found us
We can invent Kingdoms of our own
grand purple thrones, those chairs of lust
& love we must, in beds of rust
Steel doors lock in prisoner's screams
& muzak, AM, rocks their dreams
No black men's pride to hoist the beams
while mocking angels sift what seems
To be a collage of magazine dust
Scratched on foreheads of walls of trust
This is just jail for those who must
get up in the morning & fight for such
unusable standards
while weeping maidens
show-off penury & pout
ravings for a mad
staff
Wow, I'm sick of doubt
Live in the light of certain
South
Cruel bindings
The servants have the power
dog-men & their mean women
pulling poor blankets over
our sailors
(& where were you in our
lean hour)
Milking your moustache?
or grinding a flower?
I'm sick of dour faces
Staring at me from the T.V.
Tower. I want roses in
my garden bower; dig?
Royal babies, rubies
must now replace aborted
Strangers in the mud
These mutants, blood-meal
for the plant that's plowed
They are waiting to take us into
the severed garden
Do you know how pale & wanton thrillful
comes death on strange hour
unannounced, unplanned for
like a scaring over-friendly guest you've
brought to bed
Death makes angels of us all
& gives us wings
where we had shoulders
smooth as raven's
claws
No more money, no more fancy dress
This other Kingdom seems by far the best
until its other jaw reveals incest
& loose obedience to a vegetable law
I will not go
Prefer a Feast of Friends
To the Giant family
II
Great screaming Christ
Upsy-daisy
Lazy Mary will get you up
upon a Sunday morning
"The movie will begin in 5 moments"
The mindless Voice announced
"All those unseated, will await
The next show"
We filed slowly, languidly
into the hall. The auditorium
was vast, & silent.
As we seated & were darkened
The Voice continued:
"The program for this evening
is not new. You have seen
This entertainment thru & thru.
You've seen your birth, your
life & death; you might recall
all of the rest -- (did you
have a good world when you
died?) -- enough to base
a movie on?"
An iron chuckle rapped our
minds like a fist.
I'm getting out of here
Where're you going?
To the other side of the morning
Please don't chase the clouds
pagodas, temples
Her c**t gripped him
like a warm friendly
hand.
"It's all right.
All your friends are here."
When can I meet them?
"After you've eaten"
I'm not hungry
"O, we meant beaten"
Silver stream, silvery scream,
impossible concentration
Here come the comedians

Watch them dance

Look at them gesture
How aplomb

A ha-ha
They think so logically.
A teacher was reading the story of the Three Little Pigs to her class. She came to the part of the story where first pig was trying to gather the building materials for his home. She read, "and so the pig went up to the man with the wheelbarrow full of straw and said: 'Pardon me sir, but may I have some of that straw to build my house?'"
The teacher paused, then asked the class: "And what do you think the man said?"
One little boy raised his hand and said very matter-of-factly, "I think the man would have said - 'Well, I'll be damned!! A talking pig!'"
The teacher had to leave the room.

I am a little bit of loneliness a little bit of disregard
Handful of complaints but I can’t help the fact that everybody can see these scars
I am what I want you to want what I want you to feel
But it's like no matter what I do, I can't convince you, to just believe this is real
So I let go, watching you, turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here 'cause you’re all that I've got
(I can't feel the way I did before)
(Don't turn your back on me)
(I won't be ignored)
(Time won't heal this damage anymore)
(Don't turn your back on me)
(I won't be ignored)
I am a little bit insecure a little unconfident
Cause you don't understand I do what I can but sometimes I don't make sense
I say what you never wanna say but I've never had a doubt
It's like no matter what I do I can't convince you for once just to hear me out
So I let go watching you turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here 'cause you’re all that I've got
(I can't feel the way I did before)
(Don't turn your back on me)
(I won't be ignored)
(Time won't heal this damage anymore)
(Don't turn your back on me)
(I won't be ignored)
(Now)
(Hear me out now)
(You're gonna listen to me, like it or not)
(Right now)
(Hear me out now)
(You're gonna listen to me, like it or not)
(Right now)
(I can't feel the way I did before)

A sonnet by moi??? Yeppers, my first shot at it.
JB has a blog and he is is asking people to contribute sonnets, so I gave it a shot.
Although I love poetry, I just don't consider myself a poet. JB knows this of me, so I can imagine his surprise when I posted it last night on page 12 of his blog.
Do I think I'm poet now? Well... maybe JUST a little. :D
Within Myself
Who am I? What am I? Hazard a guess?
I've been around since the beginning of time
I am something that you can not possess.
A universal language filled with rhyme.
I do not care the color of your skin
Nor how popular or rich you may be
My lack of caring might be to your chagrin
But it's been that way throughout history.
When I lift you up, your senses heighten
I am filled with colors of thousand hue
A kaleidoscope of raw emotion
My melody provides many points of view.
Do you know I'm very close to magic.
That's right. I'm man, I'm woman, I'm music.

GBE 83 - Lust - Strangers on a Rainy Night - Explicit Language/ Adult Content
As a noun, it is defined as an "intense or unbridled sexual desire".
As a verb, it's definition is "to have an intense desire or need;
specifically : to have a sexual urge".
This is the first public posting of a collaboration that I and a female friend (who will remain unnamed) wrote back in the months of November and December of 2008.
We had been debating whether or not to post this - She telling me to; me unsure and stalling. When the topic for this week's GBE was announced - Lust - I decided that I wanted to post it a co-blog. My friend didn't think it would work, and she told me to post it myself.
Our styles, although different, work well together. If I had to sum it up in one word, I'd say - SMOOTH. Besides being THE easiest person to write with, she is also an all around great lady.
The story is unfinished, her post was the last. Why? The Holidays happened; Life happened and it just never was continued or finished.
her
Me
Who could it be, he wondered, as he made his way to the door. Unlocking it, he opened it to see a very wet lady wearing a dress which left little to the imagination. He let his eyes wander down her body, than realized it was shaking. She was trying to talk, but at that moment, all he saw was someone in need. Reaching out, he brushed her hair off her cheek. All he knew was to take charge.
Taking her by the hand, he said "Come in, and dry off. You need to get out of those wet clothes; I have a robe you can put on, and you should get a hot shower." She followed him into his apartment, which was just back of the pub. "First let me get you that robe, and then I also have some hot tea. You get that shower. We don't want you getting sick."
she was entranced by the look in his eyes and how he took her in. she felt comforted and in disbelief that she was in a strange place yet it felt so right.
as she slowly unhooked her dress the cool evening air settled into her bones giving her a chill, goosebumps were all over her body and her nipples were erect. she suspected it wasn't only from the cold but her excitement and anticipation about man that stood on the other side of the doorway.
as her dress fell to the floor she took off her panties and stepped into the steaming shower. at first the hot drops of water stung her chilled body and she pulled back away so not to get burned. slowly she felt the water with her hand and then her thigh. the steam from the hot water warmed her and she got closer. she felt every sensation and she no longer was thinking about where she going. she wanted to be here in the moment and let it take her wherever she needed it to go.
she reached for the soap and saw him standing by the doorway. she should have been frightened every womanly signal was going off in her head, this was not a safe place to be, yet his eyes, she couldn't forget his eyes. they looked deeply into her soul and soothed her in that one moment when he opened the door and took her in.
she knew he was watching her as she let the water cascade down her breasts and in between her thighs. the soap was running down her back as she turned her back to him. she knew he was getting excited just as she already was. she massaged her erect nipples pinching them just a bit to heighten the sensation. her hand slipped down and made its way down her abdomen to her clit and she felt the unstoppable urge to rub it gently. she turned to see him standing there watching her. she looked up into his eyes, took her hand and touched his soft lips. bringing him closer to her she kissed him.
And then, she turned around and looked him straight in the eye. Suddenly, the shower door was open. Did he open it; did she? He didn't know or care. All he could feel was a strong urge to be with her that was so overpowering. She reached up and touched his lips. No words were spoken. Luckily for him, he was wearing only his sweat shorts, which he let fall to the floor. His cock was so hard for this woman. Stepping out of his fallen shorts, she took him by one hand and guided him into the shower where the water was starting to steam up the bathroom. He leaned forward to kiss her, his lips soft against hers. She tensed, but then relaxed and began to enjoy the kiss.
Wiping her dripping hair from her face, he gently kissed her eyes, then her neck and back to her lips. He waited to use his tongue; they had time. He explored every one of her curves with his fingertips. He caressed her breasts and smooth stomach, his hands searching lower, working down to her thighs, and to her already very soaked pussy. She ran her hands over his chest and down his stomach, moving lower. And so it began
his kiss made her weak to resist and she could feel her desire growing inside of her. she wanted him so badly, she felt it and there was no denying it. this was something she never felt before in her life.
his chest was strong as her hand followed every curve. around down, she touched his nipple and brought her lips close. the water streaming down her face she was drinking it in as she kissed him. she felt as if the water was him she was tasting, his soul. it was pouring into her mouth and down her throat. she was over powered by this man it was spiritual and her want and desire for him over came her... there was no reason, just desire.
her hand caressed down his back and every inch of him made her heart moan and soon the soft words made their way out of her and she whispered in his ear. "i want you, i need you"
she took hold of his hard cock and brought it closer to her. she wanted to feel it on her. pressing into her. her pussy was so swollen now. and it throbbed in anticipation. her heart was beating with every kiss deeper. longer. she bit his lip she wanted to taste him, to feel his heart, she wanted his cock inside of her, but he teased her.......

Moms in group therapy
A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young
Mothers and their small children.
'You all have obsessions,' he observed.
To the first mother, Mary, he said, 'You are obsessed with eating.
You've even named your daughter Candy.'
He turned to the second Mom, Ann: 'Your obsession is with money.
Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny.'
He turned to the third Mom, Kathy: 'Your obsession is alcohol.
This too shows itself in your child's name, Brandy.'
At this point, the fourth mother, Joyce, quietly got up, took her little boy by the hand and whispered, 'Come on, Dick, this guy has no idea what he's talking about. Let's go pick up Peter and Willy from school and go out to dinner.

"Burning of the Midnight Lamp"
This song was first released as a mono single b/w "The Stars That Play with Laughing Sam's Dice" in the United Kingdom on August 19, 1967 (peaking at #18). It later appeared on the band's third and final studio album, Electric Ladyland (1968).
The single features more sophisticated instrumentation and production than Jimi's earlier 1967 releases, and anticipates the richness and detail of Axis: Bold as Love (1967) and Electric Ladyland. Both songs feature the wah-wah guitar effect, a first for Hendrix and later to become a regular element of his playing. The song is also one of the few on which Hendrix plays keyboard. Recorded July 7 and 20, 1967 at Mayfair Studios, "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" features complex instrumentation and studio production.
The song opens with a delicate melody played on an electric harpsichord and wah-wah guitar that is soon joined by Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell's bass and drums. During the verses, the rhythm section playing is insistent, in contrast to the angelic background vocals and harpsichord that provide a crescendo to each verse. According to engineer Eddie Kramer, the vocals are by Cissy Houston and The Sweet Inspirations, Aretha Franklin's backup group. The mandolin effect is produced by recording two or more guitars playing the same part slowly, then speeding it up so that it plays at double speed on the record, effecting a unique timbre. The building instrumentation is repeated for each verse.
Hendrix speaks the line "Loneliness … is such a drag" during a turnaround in the middle of the song. His attachment to the song is evidenced by the decision to include it on Electric Ladyland over a year after first releasing it. [1]
